What will you do as a Data Center Technician at our IES Communications' Birmingham Branch?

In our Birmingham branch, the roles of Data Center Technicians at Levels I, II, and III, along with the Lead Data Center Technician, are crucial for maintaining the seamless operation and integrity of data centers. These positions focus on executing scheduled Moves/Adds/Changes (MACs), hardware installation, support work orders involving hardware and cabling MACs, certification, troubleshooting, break-fix, asset management, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Our technicians also play a vital role in maintaining a secure operating environment, detailed documentation, providing smart-hands assistance across various sites within specified SLA response times, and coordinating equipment/material handling. Each level builds upon the foundational skills with Level III and Lead Technicians taking on more advanced responsibilities, including process improvements, coordination of standard and emergency operating procedures, and direct contributions to data center expansion or migration plans. Our team's commitment to excellence ensures that we maintain high standards for service availability, performance, capacity utilization, and adherence to best industry practices and certifications, making our Birmingham branch a pivotal part of our operations.
