What will you do as a Data Center Technician at one of IES Communications' New Mexico Branches?

In our New Mexico branches, our dedicated Data Center Technicians at Levels I, II, and III play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of data centers. They are responsible for executing all scheduled moves, adds, changes (MACs), and deletions with precision, managing hardware installations, power and network connectivity, asset management, and providing smart-hands assistance across multiple sites within specified SLA response times. Their expertise extends to maintaining stringent security protocols, thorough documentation, and supporting both standard and emergency operating procedures to uphold the integrity and performance of the data center's infrastructure.

Ascending to the position of Lead Data Center Technician, our team members take on a more strategic role, coordinating all scheduled MACs based on the data center's event scheduling and leading efforts in cable work order implementations, testing, certification, and asset auditing. Their responsibilities also encompass ensuring compliance with retention practices, ticketing, service calls, and troubleshooting while maintaining a safe and secure operational environment. With strong skills in computer productivity tools and data center infrastructure management, they contribute significantly to the development and documentation of performance measures, processes for audit and operational compliance, and the continuous improvement of our data centers' standards and certifications.
