What duties do our Helpdesk employees do at our IES Communications' Manassas Branch?

At our Manassas branch, the Helpdesk Administrator and Lead Helpdesk Administrator roles are pivotal in ensuring smooth IT operations. Both positions focus on setting up and maintaining network operations, assembling network hardware, and supporting the IT team with a variety of tasks. They're responsible for configuring devices for IES employees, providing both first and second level telephone support, and resolving technical issues efficiently. Our administrators work with an array of hardware including Dell and Cisco servers, Lenovo and Dell desktops and laptops, HP printers, and various copiers, alongside managing Cisco network equipment and VOIP phone systems. They play a crucial role in installing, testing software and hardware, upgrading network printing, directory structures, security rights, and identifying process improvements. Monitoring system backups, ensuring the functionality of company phone systems and computers, and maintaining strict privacy policies are also key responsibilities. The lead administrator additionally supervises other helpdesk staff, ensuring all tasks meet our high standards. Occasional travel to support remote sites and the ability to provide after-hours remote support when necessary are requirements for these dynamic roles within our team.
