What duties do our Helpdesk employees do at our IES Communications' Dallas Branch?
In our Dallas branch, the roles of Helpdesk Administrator and Lead Helpdesk Administrator are pivotal to ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. Our team members in these positions work diligently to set up and maintain basic network operations, including the assembly of network hardware, and they play a crucial role in supporting the rest of the IT team with various tasks. They're responsible for setting up devices for all IES employees, providing essential first and second level telephone support, resolving problems efficiently, and installing and testing necessary software and hardware. The hardware we support includes Dell and Cisco servers, Lenovo and Dell desktops and laptops, HP printers, various copiers, and Cisco network equipment, along with Cisco and VOIP phone systems.
Our administrators are adept at listening to client issues, gathering the needed information to identify and resolve technical challenges, and upgrading and configuring network printing, directory structures, and security rights. They continuously seek opportunities to improve support processes and respond promptly to user needs regarding network resources access. Adhering to strict privacy policies, completing regular database maintenance, maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring system backups, and ensuring that company phone systems and computers are always operational are just a few of their daily duties. Additionally, they may travel occasionally to support remote sites and provide support remotely after hours when required. The Lead Helpdesk Administrator, besides performing these tasks, also leads and supervises other helpdesk administrators, ensuring that our collective efforts effectively support our Dallas branch's technology needs.
