At IES in Washington, our Fiber Optic Technicians are skilled in a wide range of duties including the installation and termination of work area outlets for floors, modular furniture, and walls, building infrastructure such as closets with backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware, along with grounding installations. They excel in copper termination, testing and troubleshooting using various tools like OTDR and Fluke DTX 180, performing both mechanical and fusion splicing, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.

Our Lead Fiber Optic Technicians oversee major projects, guiding crews towards efficient performance while adhering to safety and quality standards set by both IES and our clients. They share similar responsibilities with our Fiber Technicians but bring additional expertise in project management, training, and coordination to ensure productivity and compliance with project budgets, alongside their technical tasks, making them integral leaders within our teams here in Washington.
