What duties do our Payroll employees do at our IES Communications' Washington Branch?

Our branch in Washington employs Payroll Compliance Analysts and Auditors, as well as Senior Payroll Specialists. The Payroll Compliance Analysts and Auditors are responsible for reviewing time and attendance reports on a daily basis to identify errors and policy exceptions. They also review Lunch/Break Penalty Hours, project coding, labor hour allocation, and project coding compliance. They work closely with managers to ensure identified errors are corrected and promote a culture of adherence to Time and Attendance policies. They maintain progress reports and provide recurring reporting to Company Leadership, while also collaborating with multiple departments and team members for program success. On the other hand, the Senior Payroll Specialists handle data entry for multi-state payroll for over 2500 employees, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. They address queries from employees and business partners in HR, Finance, and Tax departments. They also process off-cycle pay, special payments, adjustments, and reversals, as well as perform manual garnishment calculations and maintenance. Additionally, they compile and distribute Certified Payroll reporting and assist with monthly journal entries, month-end analysis, and adjusting journal entries. Both roles have additional responsibilities as assigned.
