What will you do as a Service Technician at our IES Communications' Chesapeake Branch?
Our Chesapeake branch is home to both Lead Service Technicians and Services Technicians who are responsible for installing and maintaining communication systems for our customers. Both positions involve terminating CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks, mounting face plates and surface mount boxes, and building closets with backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware. They also test cables for continuity and troubleshoot any issues using a volt-ohmmeter and tone set. All paperwork must be completed accurately and on time, and safety regulations must be followed at all times. The Lead Service Technician also assumes responsibility for effective performance and provides necessary training, while the Services Technician works under their guidance.
