What duties do our System Development employees do at our IES Communications' Austin Branch?
As employees of our branch in Austin, the Director of System Development plays a crucial role in overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them based on established goals. They are responsible for devising and implementing policies and systems to support the strategies set by upper management, as well as analyzing the technology needs of different departments within the organization. Additionally, they provide maintenance and support for existing systems, identify the need for upgrades or new systems, and report to upper management accordingly. They also build a network of peers with knowledge of our ERP solution, maintain strong relationships with key leaders, and communicate and influence internal and external stakeholders regarding project objectives. The Director of System Development works closely with stakeholders and technical resources to align technology solutions with business strategies, and represents the development vision to the business. They analyze performance results, observe and document existing business processes and requirements, provide support to users, and troubleshoot application and business process issues. They also lead project teams, drive accountability, and ensure project success by setting objectives, defining requirements, and scheduling deliverables and milestones. Additionally, they make policy recommendations and plans in line with the Strategic IT plan and business requirements, identify and mitigate potential problems, and seek opportunities to enhance and streamline processes.
