This dynamic position involves thorough planning for timely vehicle procurement, upfitting, and delivery to foster an environment of rapid growth while maintaining business continuity. Our Fleet Managers are at the helm of managing and overseeing maintenance and repairs, collaborating closely with our partnered fleet management company. They're tasked with developing cost-effective solutions to keep fuel and repair expenses within set boundaries, leveraging telematics solutions for efficient vehicle utilization tracking. An essential part of their job is conducting annual audits to assess the condition of all vehicles, prioritizing replacements for those nearing the end of their lifecycle. They play a pivotal role in managing relationships with key vendors—ranging from fleet management companies and OEMs to upfitters and dealerships—and spearheading negotiations to ensure cost control. Addressing driver complaints, scouting innovative fleet improvement methods (like EV solutions), and ensuring compliance with standards like DOT and EPA are also under their purview. By fostering strong partnerships with Safety and HR teams, they aim to enhance fleet and driver safety, thereby reducing accidents and related costs. Additionally, our Fleet Managers support continuous improvement projects, approve and monitor driver qualifications according to our company's Fleet Policy, and provide leadership and guidance to Fleet Coordinator(s).
