What duties do our Warehouse employees do at IES Communications' Washington DC Branches?

At our Washington DC branches, our Fabrication Warehouse Manager and Materials Operation Specialist roles are pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our warehouse. The manager oversees P&L, staffing, internal orders, safety, quality, tooling needs, Capex forecasting for tooling, coordination with Operations teams, development of VDC programs to support installation needs, managing installation schedules through Gantt charts, maintaining tooling and inventory management, and crafting national logistical delivery plans. Meanwhile, our Materials Operation Specialist focuses on the meticulous handling of warehouse inventory including packaging, labeling, tagging, receiving, shipping, stocking, auditing, issuing materials, conducting cycle-counts, maintaining IES facility tracking for all tools, ensuring proper handling of goods and supplies, adhering to 5S organization and Lean principles, and efficiently executing task assignments.

In parallel, our Warehouse and Warehouse Assistant positions play a critical role in the day-to-day functionality of our operations. They ensure the accurate reception, inspection, storage, picking, packing, dispatching of orders, operation of warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks with adherence to safety guidelines, maintenance of a clean and organized warehouse environment, conducting inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies. Both roles share responsibilities in packaging, labeling, tagging, completing daily logs, managing inventory counts, entering data into the IES Inventory database, loading and unloading goods, maintaining warehouse quality by monitoring damaged inventory, and upholding 5S and Lean principles to maintain operational efficiency. Our team members in these roles are essential to our success, embodying our commitment to excellence and efficient service delivery across our Washington DC branches.
