IES Communications provides a wide range of fire alarms with or without firemen voice communications systems for evacuation. System configurations can vary from a basic stand-alone fire panel with dialer to a complex networked IP solution with graphical interface to a centralized monitoring station.

EST-3 is Edward’s leading-edge unified small to large life safety and voice communications system. It can be designed via an IP networked fire alarm panel with a graphical user interface on a UL-approved computer with the industry-leader FireWorks software solution.
EST3X represents the latest generation of life safety control panels for mid- to large-sized applications. With large multi-message displays and innovative controls, intuitive interfaces and bold-colored cabinets, these systems capture the imagination and catch the eye. But behind the LCD display is where they really shine. New microprocessors and chip sets take full advantage of the latest advances in computing technology, leading to smarter, faster, higher-capacity processing and more efficient designs.
The EST iO500 intelligent life safety system offers the power of high-end intelligent processing in a configuration that delivers an uncomplicated solution for small to midsize applications. With intelligent direction, electronic addressing, automatic device mapping, optional Ethernet connectivity, and a full line of easily configured option cards and modules, this flexible system offers versatility that benefits building owners and contractors alike. The iO500 provides one Class A or Class B analog device loop that supports up to 500 device addresses with a second loop.

IES Communications offers very early warning aspirating smoke detection solutions with continuous air sampling to provide the earliest possible warning of an impending fire hazard. This concept provides the critical time needed to investigate an alarm and initiate an appropriate response to prevent injury, property damage or business disruption.

Xtralis (VESDA)
Xtralis is a global leader and pioneer in life safety. The company invented VESDA very early warning aspirating smoke detection (ASD), the world’s No. 1 ASD brand. Customers worldwide rely on VESDA by Xtralis when business continuity is imperative, environments are challenging, and time is required to ensure safe and orderly evacuation.

VESDA ASD systems also can be equipped with modules to detect hazardous/combustible gases to extend their value beyond smoke detection to include gas detection and environmental monitoring.

IES Communications provides mass notification solutions from a single activation point for generating and sending emergency communications to ALL devices on your campus or facility. This includes fire alarm audio visual devices; computers; two-way radio; call boxes; LCD display monitors; mobile phone texting and email/social media.


Edwards’ Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) encoder/decoder units allow for the use of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to transmit supervised digital audio for Emergency Communication System/Mass Notification Systems (ECS/MNS) and life safety applications.

While in encoder mode, the MN-FVPN takes audio signals from the Central Control Station (CCS) and transmits it over an Ethernet path. While in decoder mode, the MN-FVPN takes the digital audio signal from the Ethernet pathway and provides the connectivity to the local 3-ASU/4, 3ASU/FT or local audio system.

The Edwards VoIP system can operate in a one-to-one (one encoder to one decoder) or one-to-many (one encoder to multiple decoders) mode of operation, while providing end-to-end supervision of the entire audio path and delivering highly intelligible audio signals.
