Dominick Squeglia, Department Manager, came to the organization with more than 25 years of experience in Operations Management and Customer Care. He began his career as a field technician installing structured cabling, telephone switches, voicemail systems, and all ancillary devices that connected to these systems.
After quickly working his way into Operations Management, Dominick joined IES in the summer of 2016.
“I have always possessed a strong sense of responsibility in all the positions I have worked in my life,” Dominick said. “I wake up every day knowing I have a lot to do and a lot of people depend on me to support them and do my job.”
Outside of work, Dominick spends much of his time doing a variety of fun things. As a drummer, Dominick’s been playing in bands in the Atlanta area for the past 32 years.
“I have done shows with the Indigo Girls, Black Crowes, Sea Level, and Mothers Finest,” Dominick said. “I am currently in a band called “Under The Wheel,” and I enjoy being on stage and performing live.”
As a musician, Dominick loves all kinds of music. He’s a fan of Southern Rock, New Country, and Progressive Rock and Roll. Some of his favorite artists include Collective Soul, 38 Special, Bryan Adams, Lifehouse, Foo Fighters, Rob Thomas, Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean, and Chris Stapleton. But he has interests outside of music as well.
“I enjoy playing golf with my two sons, Nick (29) and Michael (25),” Dominick said. “We do an annual family ski trip to Colorado every year. My wife, Cindy, and I bought a lake home on Lake Lanier in Georgia three years ago. We live full time on the lake and enjoy boating and fishing year-round.”
While Dominick enjoys golfing, playing music, and living the lake lifestyle, he says this work-life balance didn’t exactly come without some effort.
“I am one of those people that work around the clock and probably shouldn’t!” Dominick said. “I always feel a strong sense of urgency to get things done, and I don’t shut work off very well. When I do get to the point where I can shut it off, I enjoy my time off, not worrying about things that I have not completed yet.”
Dominick has always possessed a strong sense of responsibility to do right by his colleagues and succeed in his career.
“Not many people would be interested in a role like mine that carries so much responsibility and accountability, but I thrive on it,” Dominick said. “Everything doesn’t always go as you plan and there are a lot of challenges, but it is all about how you manage those challenges and getting back up on your feet and moving forward again. It is what you make it, and rewards await us who keep fighting to win!”
