#OneIES: National Account Manager, Diane Alber

At IES we like to think of our employees as family, like one big team. And while there is no “I” in “team,” there certainly exists a great number of stories among the members of our team. You’re reading the second installment of our new blog series called #OneIES where we will examine those stories and learn more about the members of our team to find out what makes them— and IES— so special.

Diane Alber, National Account Manager in sales, has been in the industry for 13 years and has spent almost three years with us at IES. In addition to her successful, full-time career, Diane writes and illustrates a series of children’s books designed to inspire art and creativity in children. She has launched three new children’s books in the past two months, with plans to launch three more next year!

At IES, we support many local, regional and national customers by providing service, MACs, troubleshooting and maintenance services in every state in the US, including major, secondary and remote markets, so Diane’s work life at IES is never boring.

“I travel often,” Diane said. “But it gives my kids some quality time with Dad too! Since when I’m at home it’s MOM ALL THE TIME!”

Prior to her time at IES, Diane earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University and worked with the Global Accounts team for Wesco (CSC) for seven years. Diane’s data center comic books, “Dude where’s my data?” and “What happens in the data center…” are available on Amazon alongside her children’s books “I’m not just a Scribble,” “Splatter,” “Snippets,” and “Spots.”

Her inspiration for her books comes from her family life.

“My kids and husband are amazing and a true inspiration to me,” Diane said. She and her husband, Jason, have a four-year-old son, Ryan, a three-year-old daughter, Anna, and a German Shepherd puppy Eleanor (Ellie).

Her support at home extends to her support network at IES. “I have become friends with a lot of co-workers and a lot of them I have known for years. They are really good people,” Diane said. “I really love the IES Culture and being able to sell a top of line company is really great as well.

“My family means the world to me even though it’s a little crazy crazy right now with two toddlers and a new puppy,” Diane said. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything!”
